The Details You Need
These resources provide the technical information you need to determine the exact window specifications you require and which window option suits your needs. Intended for window-savvy professionals or novices looking for technical information, the spec sheets, guides, test reports, charts, and cross section drawings give detailed overviews of our doors and windows.
Spec Sheets
Spec Sheets provide details on individual parts of the product, including measurements, materials, and structure, as well as general installation recommendations.
Size Guides
Size guides provide measurements of our windows and sliding glass doors, including heights and widths of the code size, frame, whole unit, opening dimensions, screens, glass panels, grid patterns, and corresponding circle top sizes.
Structural Test Reports
Structural test reports contain the descriptions and results of various structural tests performed on our windows and doors by a certified, third-party testing provider. Examples of structural tests include water penetration, air leakage, forced entry resistance, operating force, and weld testing.
Sound Transmission Loss Test Reports (STC Reports)
STC reports contain the descriptions and results of tests performed to measure how much outside noise travels through the window or door and how much inside noise transmits outside. Each product is tested with various glazing, weatherstripping, dimensions, and material window options.
Thermal Charts
Thermal charts show the thermal performance of each series and specific product equipped with various window options.
Cross Section Drawings
Cross section drawings are detailed diagrams that allow the viewer to see the structure of our doors and windows as if looking at a piece of the product cut to expose the inner workings of all the parts. These drawings are created and provided by our engineering department and are color-coded and clearly labeled with a layperson’s terms and identification number.
Technical Bulletins
These documents include technical guidelines for industry standards regarding windows and doors as well as product criteria established by MI Windows and Doors.
Window Opening Control Device (WOCD) Information
These documents include safety and installation information for the WOCD offered on many MI windows.
